Week 5, Day 4 &5

Day 33
Today was Legs and Back.  Was so tough.  I ran out of energy, I barely finished the workout.  I docked about 10 minutes through and through.  Then we went on to abs and I just laid on the ground after the first three exorcises, completely crashed.
   Felt like dying
At a Cobb Salad from a local deli.  They couldn't have put more croutons on it.  A mountain of croutons, got a full workout sifting through the avocado and chicken trying to find them all.  A mountain.  Despite all that work, it was a bland salad.  I didn't feel like eating any dressing, so I don't know, it was a rough day.

Day 32
I uh... oh ya it was Yoga yesterday.  Was super tough.  I noticed I felt more flexible than I ever have.  Sweat through my whole shirt.  Skipped the darn lotus meditation pose at the end, what's with that anyway.  Wish I was thinner.  Hurt my neck a little on the stupid raise-your-legs-over-your-head-and-behind-your-neck-while-reciting-"Othello"-backwards-pose.
   Eating was just dandy.

Week 5, A Long Day 3

Day 31 - Part I
I was feeling pretty good about my weight loss, and I think it got to my head a little.  I remember once a couple of weeks back blogging about this giant steak sandwich I had for breakfast once.  Yea... I did that again today.  It was on my way to my last two final exams for the semester, and it was after my first "Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps" routine.
Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps
Since this is the first time I'm doing this, 31 days in I figured I'd discuss it a little bit.  Sure enough, it was difficult.  What made matters worse is I had a problem with my modem (for the thousandth time) and I was at wits end.  So I tried working out mad.  I thought at least this will be like that Rocky where Rock is mad at that Russian guy for killing Apollo, and my workout will be great... right? Wrong.
The workout was painful for the first 20 minutes.  Couldn't get my form right, wasn't having fun, was running out of energy, it was just a disaster.  I stopped the tape and prayed for a moment.  Then went back to it.  I'd like to think I finished the workout well, but those push-up exorcises really get to you after awhile.  The plyo-push-up is insane.  I think I did two, maybe three of those.
To make matters worse, I still wasn't feeling that much better, so I just decided to skip the Ab Ripper at the end.  Hey I'm a 'chubs mckenzie', it happens.
Part II
Anyway after the workout, I packed up some loose paper, grabbed a couple pens, let the dog out for a minute, forgot my protein bar, and left for my finals.  It was then I realized: I hadn't eaten breakfast, I was in a horrible mood, I skipped 15 minutes of the workout (Ab Ripper), and I had to take two finals in an hour.  In my mind this was a justifiable time for a steak sandwich.  Now, I laid off the cheese, the mayo, and the grilled onions, but I got pickles, lettuce, tomato, and hot peppers.  It's a great sandwich!  But seriously it's huge.
My stomach was telling me I ate too much.  So after my finals, I came home with a big smile on my face and I was determined to enjoy the summer, and to enjoy a cardio workout to burn off that sandwich.  I quickly inhaled the protein bar sitting on the counter, and grabbed a bottle of water.  Popped in the CD, and "Brought it hard for 50 minutes!"  I feel great now.  School is over for the semester, and I know I killed that sandwich after a workout like that!  I was feeling so good I even snapped a photo after the cardio!  Overall, a long (but great!) day 31.

Week 5, Day 1 & 2

Day 30
Today was Cardio.  We're back on a similar routine to weeks 1-3, for the next three weeks.  But there's a few workout replacements.  I think legs and back is gone, and instead is shoulders chest and triceps... but I'll need to double check.  That workout is tomorrow.
I felt much better today than I did yesterday.  I was able to do nearly every exorcise (at my own pace) except for one of the plyometric "jump shots."  Well, I skipped the "Dreya Rolls" again.  I really wish I could do them.  I also had to pause and let my heart rate level off before I could continue a few times.  Still, I didn't just let the workout continue while I caught my breath (which I've done in the past, and will probably do again in the future).
Food should be simple today.  I had another yogurt for breakfast and I plan to have some roasted veggies at some point.  Also, I'm going make a couple of real-fruit smoothies for my wife and I.
For consistency sake I weighed myself today.
274.5 lbs.  That's 24.5 lbs of weight lost!  Still Bringin' It!  1/3 of the way through!

Day 29
Rough day of Core exorcises.  My core strength is still minimal.  I could feel my body working hard on every exorcise though, and I was cautious to make sure I was engaging my trunk muscles and my core-band (from the chest to the thighs).  But, like I said, it was rough.  I'm getting stronger, and doing more reps of each workout, but I can hardly keep up with those guys.
Food was a switch up yesterday, because of the exams at school.  I grabbed a yogurt for breakfast, and a couple protein bars for snacks.  I had a turkey sandwich for lunch, and some lean-chili for dinner.
