Day Thirteen

Day 13
Well, well... Here I am at the end of two weeks.  At least all the workouts are done for this week.  I have to say this week went by much faster then the rest, and I'm far more sore than last week.  I'm posting early in the morning, because I don't foresee any problems in the food department today, and I'm so backed up with school work, I won't get around to it in the afternoon.
Kempo X, definitely one of my favorite workouts, it's high intensity, fast-paced, and really fun.  I burned a hair under 800 calories this morning!  And I only peeked out of my heart rate zone once, capping at 167.  (Those vertical punches are awesome).
Sticking to protein as usual, but I'm worried I'm not getting enough fiber.  I thought the insane amounts of lettuce I eat would be enough, but, I'm going to try and get some more from other things too.  Real-fruit smoothies, are the best things ever.  Natural Recovery Drink!
Might not post tomorrow, it's a rest day.  But if I do decide to try X Stretch, I will be sure to post.

Day Twelve

Day 12
Back and Legs, Ab Ripper.  Well, I prepared a little better this time around, since I knew the pull-ups were coming.  I used a chair to distribute some of my weight and went for max reps on the bar (instead of messing around with the band).  I think I pulled a muscle in my left elbow from over-compensating on the flip-grip pull-ups.  Either way it was a great workout, I am already really sore.  Looking for results is hard to find, but feeling them sure isn't.  Staying focused.

Day Eleven

Day 11
Yoga...death.  I pushed myself to the limit, but I get the feeling the grunting and the collapsing isn't really a part of the tranquility of yoga.  This is probably the toughest workout on the list so far.  Although I imagine Plyometrics is a brute.  In any case, yoga killed me today.  I still can't balance my knees on my elbows or reach under my leg and grab my wrist behind my back yet, heck I may never be able to do that, but I felt the burn for the whole workout.  I skipped the "Ohmmmms" at the end, although I did relax in the lotus pose.
Food was tough today, because the cupboards are running dry, if you know what I mean.  Managed to think on our feet and make a Chicken Cobb Salad (no dressing), and scrounge up some meatballs.  Overall it was a pretty good day.

Day Ten

Day 10
Well, today was Shoulders and Arms, with some Ab ripper.  Ab Ripper X destroyed me, I think I'm getting worse at it.  There's just no hope for someone who is as overweight as I am, trying to crunch a fat stomach.  I tried with everything I had though.
Today's eating routine got really messed up.  I was in such a rush this morning to get the work outs done, I left for school without eating breakfast.  I stopped at a deli and got a steak wrap with pickles, lettuce, tomato, and hot peppers.  It was a dry sandwich, but it was so huge.  Managed to get it all over my jeans on the way to school.  I felt so guilty for having a huge breakfast the only thing I ate for the rest of the day was two protein bars.  Definitely failed today.
I also weighed myself, like a jerk.  Turns out I've lost 0.5 pounds.  Just great...

Day Nine

Day 9
Cardio today, figured out it's a mix of yoga, kempo, and plyometrics.  I did great on everything but the yoga.  My core strength is garbage.
Nailed the real-fruit smoothie recipe too.  Tasted great, and is really healthy.  1/10 through!

Day Eight

Day 8
"Core Synergistics" Round 2.  I think I did well this round, kept a steady pace, and fought for yardage.  I have a good plan for food today (except dinner - might have to come up with something on the fly).  Got a long day of school today, so I need to be sure to keep up my calories.

Steak and Romaine Salad
Decided to make a Steak and Romaine salad for dinner.  As I was cooking some Roast Beef in a pan I filled a small bowl with romaine lettuce, then I chopped half of a tomato up.  Combined, and topped with the beef.  Broke out my chopsticks again, and had a great meal.
My wife and I were impressed by the different things we're coming up with to eat.  At first eating healthy seemed like such a daunting task, but after a week or so, we're getting creative, and really start to enjoy eating right, and eating a variety of different foods.  "Better than just pasta every day!"- Tara.

Day Seven

Day 7
Nothing much to say.  Enjoyed a day of rest all around.  Tried the "Chicken Burrito" recipe in Nutrition Guide (with a few seasoning adjustments) for dinner, and it was a hit, I'll definitely do it again.  I didn't realize how much I was going to need the day off, until I woke up this morning.  All my muscles are in a mild burn, which I'm strangely comfortable with.  In fact, it makes me smile.
Avoided weighing myself today, I'm going to try and wait for day thirty.  I keep telling myself, the results will come.  I want to say I've noticed a difference in the thinness of my face, but... I could very well just be making that up.
Week 1 is over! 12 more to go!

Protein Bars
I just wanted to mention, that I've found the best protein bar outside of P90x-brand.  That's the CLIF Builder's© bars.  There are two kinds of CLIF© bars, they are the more rectangular, larger bar.  They have less carbs and more protein than the other kind, and they taste amazing.  I feel like I'm cheating on my diet when I eat one of these.
